80% Vernatsch, 12% Lagrein, 8% G'salzne, Edelschwarze
Mos Maiorum is Latin and translates freely as “in the custom of our forefathers”. This is how St. Magdalener was made a century ago. The grapes come from our oldest vineyard, which is over 90 years old. The original mixed field blend is still preserved there today. Some of the varieties have long since been forgotten. The vines thrive at 370 m above sea level on a steep and sparse, south-west-facing slope. The yield is about 5,000 kg/ha. After temperature-controlled fermentation, the wine matures in 500-litre wooden barrels for 20 months.
