55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, 8% Petit Verdot, 8% Tempranillo, 9% Syrah
The Belleus is the result of a blend of 5 grape varieties grown in two different sites. In the early-ripening St. Peter site near Bolzano, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot are cultivated, while in the slightly later-ripening Missian site in the municipality of Appiano, Syrah, Merlot and Tempranillo are planted. The vines in both sites grow at around 350 m above sea level. Thanks to these two distinct locations, the ripening times are balanced, allowing grapes from all five varieties to be harvested and fermented together at the same time. The yield is approximately 5,000 kg/ha. The wine was aged in French barrique barrels for 40 months.
